The new external memory-card reader MSAC-US5 by Sony does not only look like a mouse: the computer mouse also devours food, however, it lives on memory sticks exclusively, digesting the data at an enormous speed, passing them on to the computer at high speed, too, and spitting its "victims" out again unscathed. The device, namely, is computer mouse and reader all in one. This practical accessory can be connected via USB interface; the respective drivers for Windows 9x/ 2000 and MacOS are included on CD-ROM. Image files from memory-stick compatible digital cameras can be shifted back and forth at a speed of up to 12 megabit per second. The MSAC-US5 has an optical sensor for orientation when used as a mouse (with scroll wheel for text and Internet navigation); it is thus house-trained and doesn't need any further looking after. Occasional feedings with memory sticks between 8 and 64 Mbytes, however, contribute to its well-being.
